MEDFEST

HEALTH CARE INTEROPERABILITY

Patients biodata is entered into the EMR to complete sign up after which a unique ID (equivalent to patient folder number in the paper record system in our hospitals) is sent via email or written out for patients who do not have e-mail address.

With the unique ID a patient's medical record can be updated and accessed in any registered health care facility by qualified medical personnel in the State, country and the world at large. There is no longer need to open new patient folder per new hospitals visited at extra costs and effort.

Laboratory/Diagnostic Facilities:

Hospital/clinic registered with MEDFEST has electronic access to laboratory facilities that have registered on MEDFEST laboratory platform, this is useful especially for clinics/hospitals that are short of some diagnostic facilities that may need to send their patients for investigations.

After the doctor has highlighted the Investigations needed to be carried out, they can search out the laboratory closest to the patient’s location that has the facility to carry out such Investigations.

MEDFEST pulls all strings of diagnostic services closest to the location of a health facility where doctors can refer patients for laboratory tests via their unique MEDFEST ID. Results will be uploaded in a patient's personal MEDFEST account. It helps to save time and avoid stress on the patient’s part in searching laboratory centers that have a facility for an investigation.

Pharmacy Services:

Hospital/clinic registered on our platform has electronic access to all pharmacies that have registered with MEDFEST The doctor can keep track of the drugs his patients use, even at first encounter with a patient. When the doctor needs to prescribe medications, he can send a list of drugs prescribed in electronic format bearing the identity details of the patient to any pharmacy of the patient’s choice.

The availability and price of a drug can be ascertained before sending an electronic prescription to the preferred pharmacy. This curbs Over-The-Counter (OTC) drug abuse and death that ensues from this act.
